Life begins at NIIT, but your career ends there!

My batch timing was 7-9am... The lady who interviewed me left the job when I joined...Then one lady taught me Linux (only Telnet) and C++ .... she also left the job...Then the third was the JAVA teacher.... She used to come at 7:30am for 7:00am class.... I complained about that regularly... but everytime the suggestion paper was returned back to me by the management! she also tried to change the batch timings but we batchmates never allowed to... she may have problems in traveling as she stays in a far-away place... but the fact being that i stay some 1km around her house only....

Then in the Month of May 2003, when I went to pay my feesI’d asked the cashier the amount in Apr-mid and he told 2800rs.... acc. to my payment plan it was 3200rs... so i took 3.2kwhen i went to pay the fees, the cashier said ask amount from teacher... teacher told ask from cashier... and i did this 2-3 timesFinally the teacher told me the amount was 4200rs. On further enquires, I was told I paid only 1000rs in March... so some 1500rs was being adjustedbut then i showed my receipts of february... where i paid 4500 instead of 2500Then the teacher realised and told me to pay the 3200 at the counterand the other 1000rs balance (For 4200) later next week.

I agreed and she said that the FEB amount will be adjusted laterI saw the cashier feeding data of fees paid in APRIL 2003 by all students on the 4th day of MAY 2003... such instance... i could not bear it.... i called the CENTRE MANAGER of that branch and blasted off... few of the folks who’d come to take admission also left without taking admissionI told him that is this the co-operation you have between your staff... and this is what the cashiers do... so late data-entryThen I gave them a letter that I wanted to quit my course... But still that letter hasn’t reached the main ppl... the teacher who taught me JAVA also left the institute in July 2003........ I’d given that letter to herstill the NIIT ppl call me to pay fees... but not to ask whether i want to continue with the course.... They’ve called me twice last month... and I refused to pay the fees saing that I’ve given the letter to quit the course

They are telling me to give the JAVA exam, take the CIT certificate and quitI said if thats the case... then my registration is vaild till Sept. 2007... I will give the exam whenever I want... You have no right to bother me about it

Even two weeks back they’d called up (sometime in Oct 2003)... a NEW cashier had come... who saw my entry in the database and called up whether I’d taken a break from the course.... I’d to literally shout on the phone that I want to quit the course even after speaking politely thrice

I known one thing about the NIIT center I went... More than the faculty, the accounts ppl are worried about students presence

I am gonna go and give them the letter for quitting again after exams in october 2003 to the CENTER MANAGER so that I don’t get phone calls from the ACCTS SECTION

I’ve stopped two of my friends from joining NIIT since August 2003

One of my friends wanted to join another branch, seeing my situation... he took me to that center and I talked with the faculty to know whether that branch faculty was reliable enough .... And I did that... that branch was good... The faculty I mean... don’t know about the my bro Harish once told me to change the branch... but then there will be too much of petrol expenses
That one I went was near my college...I’d also written in the letter I’d given that I paid the fees of May and did not attend a single class (so money-back for May)

I don’t mind the fees I’d paid earlier and don’t regret that I do not have a certificate for it, I regret on the time wasted in NIIT and not on learning the courses which was just booky and CD-y to be frank. They never taught us anything practical... all was there in a book and thats what they taught... nothing extra....

my friends (batchmates) are still there..... one said she left after completing DNIIT as she did not have patience to continue with the management there!!! some are there still tolerating all nonsense!!!

A line IF YOU ARE AT niit - YOU ARE MISSING EVERYTHING is inspired by

NIIT itself : IF YOU AREN’T AT niit - YOU ARE MISSING SOMETHING
(their title for marketing some years ago)-

finally in may 2004, i recd a letter that my name was removed from the institute students list as i had not paid the fees for a year!!!!! rather than not attending the COURSE for a year...

these sort of things happen a lot. i tried adjusting some extra comp. courses to my regular curricullum, but never worked out... lost lot of money in the process... much more than 4200... since i did not have time to go back there after my bachelors.

I did attend NIIT for something like two-and-three-fourth years during my bachelors days. I had joined the god-damn place in november of 1998 and had tough time finishing off four semester by August 2001. They were something like ~10 people who taught me during this period. I was sent there by my dad and had did the courses religiously. Also, i never missed any chance to grab some gifts. Offers like, pay fees a day earlier and get a parker pen free were all well utilised by me. In fact, by some such thing i was offered some free course also. My usual timings were 3 - 5 pm. But then, as they had some changes in curriculum in the middle of my course, and also the faculty had to leave somewhere and then she quit NIIT itself and a lot of other commotions happening, i ended up doing second part of third sem between 3 - 5 and first part of fourth between 5 - 7 and the free course between 7 - 9 simaltaneously. It was tough to finish it all before joining IIT in September 2001. Even after finishing i had to parade them some 'n' times for collecting all my certificates. A perfect example of poor management is NIIT

Every one has a LIFE Instance and that has to be nurtured by his own VIRTUE. NIIT provides a platform to purge knowledge and skills in the technology and new era of IT. So how can a person just start idle and let what LIFE gives him or rather he should do some work and then show his skills and get professional in his domain so that he can be known as a sucess. Hence the statement is true that "Life Begins at NIIT" but you have to take it farther to get the optimum.

Ok...It is true that the inconvinience u guy faced was due to mismanagement in the NIIT branch...But, what about the Job placement guys? Lemme know

Placements are not contracted services they are Skill tamed and Logic owned with a sensible mind and varied personality.

NIIT helps to purge your above skills with tools of IT .

Rest remains in your deeds at the study place.

I Joined NIIT in MAY 2006 for a 6 months course but then I upgraded it for GNIIT as at that time they were offering for a merged course of new as well as old curriculum at some additional fee with the old fee. They shown me that NIIT has a good reputation in market but as the time passed I came to know that all that was bullshit.NO reputation ,nothing. And placements were horrible there as GNIITians(software Engg.) were getting jobs in call centers bcoz no IT company was coming for placements. One of the shocking moments for me was that I saw the notice of the company(call center) coming there for campus and the skills recquired was GOOD COMMUNICATION only and nothing. So this was the result after 2 years of hard study.I am dissappionted bcoz I took education loan and also purchased a computer for this. Then I moved to the Delhi (South Ex.) center to complete my last semester for the purpose of better placement but conidition is even worse here than my previous center. As they use slides to teach u.Plaements GOD KNOWS.I HATEEE.... NIIT.And I feel sorry that I joined it against my parents will. From MAY 2006 till now I am just not satisfied with its education n placements. All they need is money at any cost.SO IF U ARE THINHKING TO JOIN IT PLEASE DON'T .IT'S A WASTE OF MONEY AS WELL AS TIME.I HAVE ALREADY STOPPED TWO OF MY FRIENDS TO JOIN IT.AND I FEEL LIKE DOING SOCIAL SERVICE IF I CAN STOP U..But right now I am still with this shit and its about to complete.

I joined NIIT at 2006 with the intention to take a certificate regarding computer knowledge as computer education is very much required these days at every field.
I came for the enquiry for some basic of computer which the centre offer as one of my friend was already taking her classes there. The lady there asked me to take up for a year course at least i.e. a diploma in IT for which they also give placements.I at once agreed but after a few days when i came to take admission they asked me to go for GNIIT which was in high demands.I thought that might be better if I get a degree plus a work experience for the same. But when i joined NIIT and took some few classes i realized that the faculty there was horrible as they teach through slides and gave no practical theses for the same. All they taught was completely bookish. And regarding fees they always by any means try to charge you with extra amount be it the upgradation, taking break, batch change, centre transfer fees or late fines. The payments which we people make are not updated on time due to which we suffer at the time when books are given.I moved to Delhi center at fourth semester to get better placements,as there is more opportunity in Delhi. But when i came here the teaching here was horrible as our faculty have no practical knowledge about the subject but also the placement possibilty is worse.Thats why i downgraded from GNIIT to ANIIT.Now i am advicing my friends and all those who are willing to take admissions in NIIT to never go for NIIT as this place SUCKS......

NIIT isn't all that bad.... Not in Kerala(Alleppey) anyway... I joined for a Java\J2EE course this year,n till today, everything is going well... classes started the next day itself... the instructor's really good... classes start and end on time.... n most of my knowledge is practical rather than just bookish....(coz I was asked to try the programs out and hence understand wat each line did..)...n, then, they really do care more about educating you as opposed to teaching you just for the sake of teaching you... if I miss a lesson, i don't have to worry much, as my instructor repeats the whole lesson the next day, even if it was only me from the batch who missed it...

There's nothing bad with NIIT, the problem's just with the management at some places... you can't blame the whole organization for some injustice done to you by the management of one branch...!
